OSHC Centre Manager

Full Time – $55,000 to $70,000

Big Childcare manages Before & After School Care and School Holiday programs for primary school aged children across Melbourne.


We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Managers to run Before Care, After Care and School Holiday Care Programs for various vacancies across various locations.

Role Expectations

  • A managers prime responsibility is to facilitate a program with excellent 5 Star customer service, providing great FUN experiences for our children with superior safety at all times
  • Learning and implementing Big Childcare policies, procedures and routines of the service
  • Responsible for rostering, training and general supervision of other employees
  • Ensure Education and Care Services Regulations and National Quality Framework are implemented at the service
  • Ensure company values are adhered to and upheld at all times
  • Exceptional administration skills

Requirements of the Role

  • Working with Children’s Check
  • Police Check (no longer than 6 months old)
  • Diploma in OSHC/Children’s Services or Bachelor of Education/Early Childhood
  • Current Level 2 First Aid
  • First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis
  • Emergency Asthma Management
  • Food Safety Level 2

A quick guide to the New Government Childcare Package.

What’s happening?

  • The upcoming Government change will commence from July 2, 2018
    The Australian Government is investing an additional $2.5 billion into early education and care over the next 4 years
  • This will support the 1.2 million families who use approved child care
  • The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) which will replace the Child Care
  • Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR) with a single, means-tested subsidy
  • This will remove the current cap and provide assistance to more families in balancing work and early education and care.

The New Childcare Subsidy (CCS) will:

  • Be simpler than the current multi-payment system
  • Reduce out of pocket expenses for most families
  • Be more targeted, providing further assistance to low and middle-income families

How much Childcare Subsidy (CCS) will I be entitled to?

This will depend on three factors:

  1. How much ‘work related’ activity (full time, part time and study) you and your partner undertake each fortnight. The entitlement is based on the lesser activity figure for a member of a couple
  2. Your total combined family income
  3. The amount of childcare undertaken
